 Dave Ward has accumulated 30-plus years of experience specific to the motor-carrier segment. In 1990 he assumed control of the Ward family’s 40-million dollar LTL company, an organization ravaged by the effects of prior management underestimating and poorly responding to the forces of industry deregulation. Dave led a team that grew the company to 180 million dollars of combined LTL, TL and logistics revenues while restoring profitability from a high-water mark of an 103.5 operating ratio in 1989 to a 93 OR in 2006. During that time, Ward Trucking was honored with many national quality and safety honors. Most significantly, in 2004 and 2005 Ward Trucking was named “Top National LTL Carrier” by Mastio-Gale, the preeminent and completely independent survey organization collating thousands of shipper responses to value questions across 268 US motor carriers.
Dave has published several articles for the motor-carrier industry and has spoken at several transportation conferences.
Additionally, Dave serves or has served a number of organizations as a Board member in the areas of banking, manufacturing, insurance and higher education.
